Earn 5X Sony Rewards Points with Your Sony Card

July 12th, 2008 David No comments

Sony 5x bonus pointsChase Sony card offered 10,000 bonus Sony rewards points if you spent more than $500 on this card during this March. My post indicated that the 10,000 bonus points have been posted in our account. This 10,000 points can be used to redeem for $100 gift card. This is the best promotion we have seen so far this year. However, Chase Sony Card launched a new promotion for their card members from July 1 to September 30, 2008.

When you use your Sony Card this July, August and September, you can earn 5x points for purchase you make everyday! However, there is a requirement: you must have to spend $250 each month to receive the bonus points and only the amount higher than $250 is eligible to receive the 5x bonus points. If you charge $200 on this card every month, you can only get 250 Sony rewards points. If you charge $300 on Sony card every month, you can get 250+5*50=500 Sony rewards points. Sony card also requires that only the money spent at dining, grocery stores, gas stations and department stores are eligible to get 5x points.

To get the bonus points, you have to enroll your Sony card here.

You have to enter your name, first 6 digits of your Sony card number, email address and the enrollment code. Once you have successfully enrolled in your Sony card, you can get a “Thank You” page as indicated below.

It seems this promotion is targeted to some of Sony Card members. You have to have the enrollment code to be eligible to get the 5x points during the promotion period. You can also call Chase at 888-807-1302 to enroll your card.

A very interesting find is actually, Chase is offer bonus points for many Chase branded credit cards. For example, the Chase Amazon.com Rewards Visa Card, Chase AARP Visa Card, Chase Disney Rewards Visa Card, Chase Freedom Card are offering bonus points for using the card during July, August and September. You can find all the cards that offer promotion bonus points during July, August and September at here.

Fine print:

In order to be eligible for this bonus points promotion, you must enroll by the last day of the promotion (9/30/08) by either calling the opt-in phone number or logging on to the opt-in website using the account number and/or web enrollment code referenced above. The bonus points offer only applies to eligible purchases made with your credit card for every dollar spent above the specified hurdle each calendar month from July 1 to September 30, 2008, made at retail establishments that classify their merchant locations for Visa as a type of dining establishment, a grocery store, a gas station, or a department store. Purchases not eligible to receive bonus points include, but are not limited to, purchases made at discount stores, specialty stores, superstores and warehouse clubs. We do not determine whether merchants correctly identify and bill transactions as being made at a type of dining establishment, a grocery store, a gas station, or a department store. However, we do reserve the right to determine which purchases qualify for 5x points regardless of how they are identified and billed by the merchant. The maximum reward accumulation on your additional earnings during this promotion is 10,000 bonus points and will not count against any monthly or annual earnings cap.

Sony Rewards Offers Gift Card Redemption Now

May 8th, 2008 David 2 comments

I pointed out in this post that Sony Rewards had credited 10,000 bonus points in our accounts at www.sonyrewards.com on April 24, 2008. The promotion from Sony Card was a really great deal. I have never seen such a huge bonus from a certain credit card for simply using $500 in a month. Yes, usually you can get a small amount of bonus points for using your credit cards during a certain promotion period, but the bonus points are usually in 1,000 scale. Last year, they mysteriously credited $100 in your Sony card account. Surprised, right? Anyway, Sony Card is a really good card to get some free money from Sony and Chase.

The problem here is how to use those Sony points. Maybe you can redeem a Sony Walkman Video Player, maybe you can redeem a Sony home theater system, or maybe you can get a hot Sony alpha SLR camera with some new money (You have to pay some money.). Anyway, there are many choices there for you to make the decisions. However, you may still be not satisfied with those rewards and want some gift cards. Essentially every rewards program offers gift card redemption for their customers. Sony Rewards didn’t do so. But Sony Rewards is offering gift card redemption now! They just introduced the gift card redemption option in late April this year. The gift card redemption is a really great supplement to Sony Rewards Program.

giftcards-from-sony-rewards.jpgThere are many gift cards available at Sony rewards program. You can choose those gift cards by categories: apparel, department store, dinning, gasoline, general merchant, and specialty. Some great gift cards I like/suggest are: BP, Barnes & Noble, Border’s, Starbucks, Kohl’s, Macy’s, and TJX. The values of gift cards vary from $25 to $100. The redemption is based on 1 sony rewards point=$0.01. For each gift card redemption, 150 sony rewards points will be charged.

If you don’t use this card quite often, here are some tips on how to earn some small Sony rewards points.

  • Finish 1 poll will give you 10 points (weekly)
  • Update your wishlist will give you about 25 points
  • Visit www.sonyrewards.com now and then, sometimes you can get some welcome points
  • Visit “Insider Specials” frequently and you can always find great deals

If you don’t have a Sony Card yet, you can apply for this card through this link which will give you 10,000 Sony rewards points after you spend $299 or more.

Get $75 Bonus for Using Your Chase Sony Card to Pay Bills

April 7th, 2008 David 4 comments

Chase Sony Card is really a hot card right now. This card just finished the promotion which will give 10,000 bonus points to their card members for spending $500 in a month. Today I just received another email from Chase Sony Card about the new promotion.

From April 1 through June 30, 2008, simply use your Sony Card to make at least three payments on any of the following bills:
• Telephone
• Insurance
• Internet Service Provider
• Utilities
• Cable/Satellite TV
• Wireless

So how to get the bonus?

1. Visit www.chasebillmanager.com to locate and contact the companies that bill you

2. Pay your bill with your Chase Sony Card

3. Get $75 when you make at least three qualifying payments from April 1 through June 30, 2008

There are two ways to pay your bills. You can make a single payment by using Chase Sony Card or set up automatic payment in your merchant account. I believe most of us will not use the Chase Sony Card to pay bills all the time. I suggest you guys use the “single payment” method. For example, I’m using Chase Freedom Card which will give me 3% cash back to pay my cable and wireless bills. In order to get the $75 bonus, I will use the “single payment” method to pay my wireless and cable bills for a while and then switch to use my Chase Freedom Card again.

Fine print:

This $75 statement credit will be awarded for 3 bill pay transactions from April 1, 2008 through June 30, 2008 at any of the eligible merchants assigned to one of the following merchant category codes: Telecom (4812, 4814), Pay TV/ISP (4899, 4816), Insurance (5960, 6300), Utilities/Fuel (4900, 5983). Transactions processed by a merchant that does not process transactions under the codes will not qualify for this offer. When you qualify for this statement credit, it will be reflected on your monthly credit card statement 8-10 weeks following the last calendar day of the promotional period. Only one $75 statement credit will be awarded for this offer.

In order to confirm this offer, I called Sony card customer service. I was assured that it’s a valid offer and all you have to do is make 3 eligible payments. When I asked him whether this is only for targeted customers or for everyone, he gave a vague reply. (It’s really bad!) If you haven’t received the promotion offer, please just wait. Based on my experience, I believe this is kind of “for everyone” offer.

Sony Card is on the rock! If you make a redemption before March 31, 2008, you will get another 500 bonus points from sony rewards. It’s a pretty good deal especially when you can redeem some music downloads and movie tickets which essentially will cost you only about 1000 sony points. The 500 bonus points make your redemption get rewarded!

It’s very simple to get the 500 bonus points:
1. Browse the Rewards Catalog.

2. Add the items you want to your shopping cart.

3. Proceed to checkout — your 500 bonus points will be credited to your account (Offer is limited to only one redemption for an account and the bonus points will be credited to your account within 4~8 weeks after March 31, 2008).

According to the terms and conditions, you can choose anything in the rewards catalog.

Considering the ongoing 10,000 points promotion, the sony card is really on the rock! If you currently don’t have a sony card, you can find a link to get 10,000 bonus sony points. You might be also interested in this post.

10000 Points and A Free Companion Ticket for Sony Card Members

March 4th, 2008 David No comments

I have a post about the promotion from Sony Rewards. (here) I was not very sure about the promotion at that time, so I added “Possible” at the beginning of the title. Today I called sony rewards customer service (866-556-7669) today and verified the promotion.

In order to receive the 10,000 bonus points, you have to: 1). You must have a Sony Card in good standing and an active Sony Rewards account. If you don’t have the rewards account, you can create one to become eligible. 2). You must sign on to Sony Rewards at least once during the promotion period (2/15/2008 – 3/31/2008). 3). You must charge a total of at least $500 in purchases on the Sony Card during the promotion period. The purchases do not have to be Sony product.

The link sony.com/sonycard/flyfree is not to assure you that you are enrolled in the program. However, it’s to tell you that there’s a such promotion. This promotion applies to Sony Card Accounts automatically. You won’t get any confirmation information from sony rewards. I was also told by the customer representative that the free companion ticket was also a part of the promotion starting from April 1st and you only have to spend $300 on that card to get a companion ticket.

If you can’t spend more than $500 on this card, I suggest you buy some gift cards from Wal-mart, Target, bestBuy or Amazon.Com. The 10,000 points will be your reward for spending $500 on Chase Sony Card.

What Can We Do with 10,000 Points?

The Sony NWZS615FRED/PNK 2GB Walkman Video MP3 Player is the best bet. This video player will cost you $92 at Amazon.Com. At Sony Rewards, you can redeem this video player with only 9,995 points. Or you can consider the 815 version which will cost you 2,000 points more.

You can also consider the Sony CMTBX1 CMT Micro Component System with MP3 Playback which will cost you $99 at Amazon.Com. You can redeem it for only 9,995 points at sony rewards.

You can also redeem 5,000 points for a $50 Blockbuster gift card.

If you don’t have a sony card yet, you can apply a new sony card through this link and receive 10,000 bonus points.

Possible 10000 Points for Sony Cardmembers

February 27th, 2008 David 4 comments

Several days ago I received a mail from Sony Rewards: Spend $500 between 02/15/2008 and 03/31/2008 and get 10,000 bonus Sony Rewards Points in addition to your points earned on everyday purchases.

“Spend $500 on your Sony card between February 15 and March 31, 2008 and get 10,000 Sony Rewards bonus points, in addition to your points earned on everyday purchases.” The second part of the offer is “Spend $300 from April 1 to June 30, 2008 and get a free companion airline ticket voucher with purchase of an adult round-trip ticket.” The bonus points will be posted in 4~12 weeks after 31 March.

I don’t know whether this is a targeted offer or not. I haven’t use this card for a long long time. There is no promotion code you can find in the mail. But I think the link may be helpful to any sony cardmember. If you have an account at SonyRewards, you can click login. If you haven’t registered your sony card yet, click register to finish the registration process. But what I would tell you is after login sony rewards, you still don’t know anything about this offer. My suggestion is make the purchases according to promotion and save the necessary proofs in case you might need them. Anyway, I will give it a try. if you can’t get the bonus points, your loss would be $500*2% cash back=$10. But you can kick Chase/Sony out forever.

Sony Card Promotion—$100 Card Credit

January 16th, 2008 David No comments

I noticed that a lot of readers were redirected to this site by searching “Sony Card Promotion” on the internet. Although I have 2 posts about Chase Sony Card Promotion, both of them have been expired. Hereby I provide a link to the $100 card credit promotion from SonyStyle.Com. Through this link, you can get $100 card credit after qualifying purchase. Plus, you can get 0% APR on purchase of $299 or more at sonystyle.com. In order to get the $100 bonus, you have to make a qualifying purchase on the card.

Your first single sales receipt purchase made at a SonyStyle store, including SonyStyle.com equal or greater than $299 (”Qualifying Purchase”) will automatically qualify you for a $100 Statement Credit.

The above statement points out how to get the $100 on that card. I think the easiest way is to buy a Sony PlayStation3 system (PS3) at sonystyle.com. Right now you can get 5 blu-ray DVDs for free at sonystyle.com. If you want to take advantage of the offer and cash it out, you can sell the PS3 system at ebay. Or you can buy a Sony Reader which is a really cool stuff.

Chase Sony Card

September 11th, 2007 David 2 comments

06337_pv_rrgb_i41470217273.jpgI got my chase sony card today! This is my 11st credit card since I came here last year. My first credit card is from National City Bank. At first, I’d like to write about my application experience with chase sony card. I submitted my application for Chase Sony Card on Aug 1st, 2007. I used the link from Chase.com which will give me 1,500 points bonus. I didn’t get the immediate response which means I have to get approved by a credit analyst. In the next two weeks, I still didn’t get any information from Chase. On Aug 17th, I received a call from Chase. But I missed that call becasue I was in my bathroom! Then several days later I received a letter which asked me to sent out my bank statement, power bills or phone bills to verify my personal information. I faxed all the required materials on Aug 23rd. Then after two weeks, I didn’t get any information. Wait and wait…… On Aug 26th, when I bought a cell phone from Amazon I applied for an Amazon.com visa card. On Aug 28th, I got a call from Chase to verify that I did apply for this card. I got approved immediately! However, I still didn’t have any information about my Chase Sony Card! I called Chase this afternoon. That guy put me hold for about 10 mins, and then told me that he approved my application and I should receive my new Chase Sony Card in 7-10 days! Amazing! I got my Sony Card finally! The phone number is 800-480-1870. I think this phone number belongs to the new accounts department. With this phone, you can talk to the credit analysts in person which will give you great chance to get new credit card. SO please remember this number.

Let’s talk about Chase Sony Card. At Chase.com, you can find that Chase is offerring 1,500 points after first purchase. However, when you apply for this card at sony.com, you can see the offer is “get a sony reader for $49.95 plus S&H”. That’s about $250. Are they differen’t? In fact, they are offerring tha same thing. You use about $50 to buy extra points and combine the 1,500 points to buy a sony reader. At the same time, you can get 100 ebooks for free! Anyway, the 1,500 points is equal to $150. There seems another offer from sonystyle.com—get $150 credit with $299 purchase at sonystyle.com. I think chase sony card currently is offerring the best signup bonus. At last, a kind reminder—this deal ends in Sep 30th, 2007. Hurry up!
