October 11th, 2007 David No comments

banklogo.gifRight now, Bank of America is offering $75 for its customers for opening a new MyAccess checking account. (the preliminary requirement is you should have a credit card account with them) The offer code is CH750LB. This time you have to fund this account with only $25. However, the $100 bonus offer is still available. To get the $100 bonus you should use offer code AOU2610. For both accounts, there is no monthly maintenance fee and no minimum balance requirement. You don’t have to set up direct deposit for this account. It’s really a good deal. Your lost is a hard pull on your credit report. Hurry up! Click here to apply for $100 offer and click here to see the $75 offer. I have no idea why they offer the similar offers. Both indicate that the offer expire on 12/31/2007. I applied for the MyAccess checking account on Aug 1st and got $200 ($100 each) on Sep 7th. I don’t know why they gave me $200. But it’s not bad!

Be Alert on Your Emails!

September 25th, 2007 David No comments

Recently I received many emails from so called “Bank of America” which said there were some unauthorized activities about my account at Bank of America. I also heard that someone really took it as real and revealed their registration information. If you look closely at their email address—<pp-verify@yahoo.com>, <bankofamerica@yahoo.com>, and <bankofamerica@google.com>—you can immediately make a judgment by yourself. A very ridiculous thing is that I click the link they offered and, do you know what I put in? I put in words like “bitch, 911, FBI, F**K you”, as my name, SSN, address, and phone number and then I can submit the information at last! Hmm……but we should be aware that the website is similar to the real Bank of America web. Here I put one of the email I received:

Dear Bank of America client,
You have received this email because you or someone had used your account from different locations. For security purpose, we are required to open an investigation into this matter.
In order to safeguard your account, we require that you confirm your banking details.
The help speed up to this process, please access the following link so we ca complete the verification of your Bank of America Online Banking Account registration information.
http://0xd20e5fb6/icons/…/www.bankofamerica.com/sslencrypt218bit/online_banking/ (see the link!)
If we do no receive the appropriate account verification within 48 hours, then we will assume this Bank of America account is fraudulent and will be suspended.
The purpose of this verification is to ensure that your bank account has not been fraudulently used and to combat the fraud from our community. We appreciate your support and understanding and thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.

I don’t know next time they will send me emails under which bank’s name….But I won’t fill in my personal information as required from every email. I hope you also won’t give away your personal information. We have phone and we can call them.

BOA Keep the Change

September 19th, 2007 David 7 comments

For those who haven’t opened an account at Bank of America, you can “Get $100 from Bank of America“. With this new promotion code, I want to say you can get more than just $100 from BOA! There is another program named “Keep the Change” from BOA. It’s a free service, you don’t have to pay money for enrolling in this program. All you have to do is use the BOA visa debit card.

The process is very simple: BOA will round up every Bank of America Visa Check Card purchase to the nearest dollar and transfer the difference from your checking to your savings – automatically – for free. So, if you buy a cup of coffee for $2.2 with your BOA check card, you are actually charged $3.0. But the change is directly credited to your saving account. Then $2.2 for a cup of coffee and $0.8 for saving. In a word, they’re rounding up and refunding the change to your savings account instead of back to your checking account. This is really a neat idea! However, who will use a check card? It’s much safer to use a credit card. Don’t worry. Bank of America will let you use their keep the change program. They will match 100% of the amount of your Keep the Change transfers during the first three months after you enroll, and we will match 5% thereafter. The maximum total match is $250 per year. The matching funds will be credited to your savings account annually. It’s really a nice deal if you use little money everyday. Take the BOA check card in your wallet.

If you are not using this card for your daily use, here is a tip for you. You can pay $1.01, $2.01, $3.01, $4.01, $5.01 or $10.01……to your cable company, cell phone company or internet service company. They accept every transaction! Play this at the beginning of the first 3 months. BOA will match your payment. If you play $1.01 5 times every day, BOA will match you 5*$0.99 each day! See how much you can get from BOA! You can finish the $250 cap in about 2 months. Remember to pay in full before the due date. You can also use paypal…..(I don’t want to go in detail…BOA will hate me.) You can learn more here. You need a checking account, a saving account and a check card.

Exciting! I received a phone call from Bank of America today! They agreed to fund $100 credit for my account! Emmm…so nice. It seems they really pay attention on BBB.org. I believe lots of readers have opened an account during that time. So if you can’t get the $100 bonus, please go ahead and use BBB.org. The phone number i received is from Florida 714-792-9031.

My story: I opened an BOA MyAccess checking account at the beginning of Aug. I funded this account as required. Then at the beginning of Sep. I sent two bank mails to BOA about the bonus. Their respones were the same: I opened this account in branch. That’s impossible! The nearest branch here is 50 miles away! Then I filed a compalin at BBB.org. It’s so quick! I hope this imformation is useful for you guys.

Cards from Bank of America (FIA Card Service, N.A.)

September 9th, 2007 David No comments

Emm…. It seems there is no attractive card from Bank of America. (FIA Card Service, N.A.) As I mentioned in my first post, the University of Iowa Alumni Association Platinum Plus Credit Card with Worldpoints Rewards Card porvided 25,000 world points after spending $250 in July, 2007. If you missed this card, then we should stay and wait for the next turn. Who knows when and which card issuer will release a $250 bonus card. Hereby, I recommend a card from BOA—Bank of America Rewards American Express Card. You can get $50 credit after the first purchase. At the same time, this card provide 0% Apr on Balance Transfer and Cash Advance! Oh, it’s really great for those who are in need of cash! I would say the only drawback for this card is the woldpoint is not so attractive right now. If you want to get cash from world point, it’s equal to 2 points for 1 cent. It’s much cheaper than other rewards cards. So please prepare to convert this card to other card after the first year. There is a nother card that you can get $50 bonus after first purchase—Bank of America Worldpoints Mastercard Credit Card. This card also provides 0% Apr on Balance Transfer and cash Advance. The $50 credit is very quick! You can get it in 7 days after your first purchase! Another card is Bank of America World Mastercard with WorldPoints which proveds the similar benefit with the above mentioned 2 cards. Also please refer to the Bank of America Visa Signature with WorldPoints card. I would like to provide a trick for appluying BOA credit card. When you enter into the BOA main page, click “credit card”. Then you will enter into the credit card page, and then click “check for offers”. You can provide personal information and see what card is prepared for you. It’s a soft hit on your credit report. In this way, I got my first BOA credit card. In fact, I can choose 3 cards from which I choose the BOA rewards American Express Card. Have fun!
