Emm! A nice card! I promise I will try to get this card at least for the first year. It seems this is the second 5% rewards card. The drawback for the previous one is limited 3 months’ 5% rewards.

Maybe this is a very old credit card deal, and you guys might all know this deal. But I want to say it again because it’s a nice credit card. Citi professional mastercard with thankyou network is offering 10,000 thankyou points after first purchase. The 10,000 points can be redeem as a $100 gift card good for a lot of retail stores. I applied for this card and got denied! I called in and talked to a credit analyst who told me that I need at lest one year credit history to get this card. Citi professional card is a hybrid personal/business card. It will show up on your credit report.

I got my chase sony card today! This is my 11st credit card since I came here last year. My first credit card is from National City Bank. At first, I’d like to write about my application experience with chase sony card. I submitted my application for Chase Sony Card on Aug 1st, 2007. I used the link from Chase.com which will give me 1,500 points bonus. I didn’t get the immediate response which means I have to get approved by a credit analyst. In the next two weeks, I still didn’t get any information from Chase. On Aug 17th, I received a call from Chase. But I missed that call becasue I was in my bathroom! Then several days later I received a letter which asked me to sent out my bank statement, power bills or phone bills to verify my personal information. I faxed all the required materials on Aug 23rd. Then after two weeks, I didn’t get any information. Wait and wait…… On Aug 26th, when I bought a cell phone from Amazon I applied for an Amazon.com visa card. On Aug 28th, I got a call from Chase to verify that I did apply for this card. I got approved immediately! However, I still didn’t have any information about my Chase Sony Card! I called Chase this afternoon. That guy put me hold for about 10 mins, and then told me that he approved my application and I should receive my new Chase Sony Card in 7-10 days! Amazing! I got my Sony Card finally! The phone number is 800-480-1870. I think this phone number belongs to the new accounts department. With this phone, you can talk to the credit analysts in person which will give you great chance to get new credit card. SO please remember this number.

Let’s talk about Chase Sony Card. At Chase.com, you can find that Chase is offerring 1,500 points after first purchase. However, when you apply for this card at sony.com, you can see the offer is “get a sony reader for $49.95 plus S&H”. That’s about $250. Are they differen’t? In fact, they are offerring tha same thing. You use about $50 to buy extra points and combine the 1,500 points to buy a sony reader. At the same time, you can get 100 ebooks for free! Anyway, the 1,500 points is equal to $150. There seems another offer from sonystyle.com—get $150 credit with $299 purchase at sonystyle.com. I think chase sony card currently is offerring the best signup bonus. At last, a kind reminder—this deal ends in Sep 30th, 2007. Hurry up!

American Express offers the national wide in-store promotion enabling shoppers can get free $25 gift card when they purchase any 2 gift cards before Sep 30, 2007. We all are aware that the back-to-school period is one of the most busiest shopping season in a year. Every family spends about $1000 for their kids during this time period. Citi Cards now offer the PDF copied for our Citi Cards Holders. The monthly default choice is still the html and you have go further to request it. When you put your mouse on “view my account”, there is a new option—”Request a PDF Statement”. Then go ahead and click it. You can choose to see which month statement you want to review. After a while (usually one day) you can see the X (0,1,2,3,4,5,6) “Statement Ready”, click “view”. Then you can see the statements you want. It’s obviously useful for those who are still receiving paper statements. This is really a great improvement, since you can’t see the rewards information in previous monthly html statements. And we all prefer to read our statements in PDF format, don’t we?

Emm…. It seems there is no attractive card from Bank of America. (FIA Card Service, N.A.) As I mentioned in my first post, the University of Iowa Alumni Association Platinum Plus Credit Card with Worldpoints Rewards Card porvided 25,000 world points after spending $250 in July, 2007. If you missed this card, then we should stay and wait for the next turn. Who knows when and which card issuer will release a $250 bonus card. Hereby, I recommend a card from BOA—Bank of America Rewards American Express Card. You can get $50 credit after the first purchase. At the same time, this card provide 0% Apr on Balance Transfer and Cash Advance! Oh, it’s really great for those who are in need of cash! I would say the only drawback for this card is the woldpoint is not so attractive right now. If you want to get cash from world point, it’s equal to 2 points for 1 cent. It’s much cheaper than other rewards cards. So please prepare to convert this card to other card after the first year. There is a nother card that you can get $50 bonus after first purchase—Bank of America Worldpoints Mastercard Credit Card. This card also provides 0% Apr on Balance Transfer and cash Advance. The $50 credit is very quick! You can get it in 7 days after your first purchase! Another card is Bank of America World Mastercard with WorldPoints which proveds the similar benefit with the above mentioned 2 cards. Also please refer to the Bank of America Visa Signature with WorldPoints card. I would like to provide a trick for appluying BOA credit card. When you enter into the BOA main page, click “credit card”. Then you will enter into the credit card page, and then click “check for offers”. You can provide personal information and see what card is prepared for you. It’s a soft hit on your credit report. In this way, I got my first BOA credit card. In fact, I can choose 3 cards from which I choose the BOA rewards American Express Card. Have fun!
