National City Bank is still offering $300 bonus for new customers with direct deposit. I mentioned this promotion back in this November. This promotion seems to be back again. The promotion extended to 12/19/2009. The latest advertisement for this promotion was in the Sunday edition of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.  The advertisement of this promotion is available online here. Since this promotion requires a branch visit, you can not open an account online. So this promotion is limited to residents of states where National City Bank is operating: IL, IN, KY, MI, MO, OH, PA and WI.

A new feature of this promotion is that you can get additional 50,000 bonus points for using your National City Bank Visa Card.

National City Bank is acquired by PNC Bank now. And the PNC Bank is also offering $100 bonus. The promotion about this $100 promotion is advertised here.

Open a select new PNC Personal Checking Account with qualifying direct deposit and get more than you expected, like $100 deposited in your account.

The $100 bonus promotion will expire on 12/19/2009.

Citizens Bank is offering $100 account bonus for opening a new checking account with required activitie. If you have a Citizens Bank around you, this is a good deal. I mentioned a  similar deal from Citizens Bank back in October 2009. It seems not difficult to get this bonus.

How to get the $100 bonus?

• $50 for setting up direct deposit of $50 or more
• $25 for making 5 online bill payments
• $25 for making 5 signature-based debit card or credit card (avoid, hard pull) purchases

To get this bonus, you need to open a checking account from Citizens Bank. It seems that the Green Checking account qualifies for this bonus which features no monthly fees. And the minimum opening balance is $50.

Citizens Bank also has the Green$sense program from which you can earn additional $120 per year. So the total bonus you can get from Citizens Bank is $220. The Green$sense program requires you t make 100 or less debit card purchases, online bill payments or automatic payments per month for 12 months. For each of above mentioned transactions, Citizens Bank pays you 10 cents. The maximum amount you can get is $120 per year or $10 per month.

You can apply online at the promotion page but only zip codes in their marketing area will be accepted. Citizens Bank has branches at Illinois, Indiance, Connecticut, Delaware, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New Hampshire, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont and Ohio.

Today I received an email from Paypal about a new promotion with Bing Cashback. This email was sent to my not-frequently used PayPal account. If you are not using Bing Cashback now and want to get this easy $10 bonus from Paypal, this is a good chance. Bing Cashback is reliable and often offers huge cashback for certain merchants (at certain time).

To be eligible for this special offer, you must be new to Bing cashback and have received an email invitation from PayPal. If so, then follow these three steps:

The Huge Promotion from National City Bank I mentioned last came back again. This time National City Bank is also offering $300 checking account bonus for new customers who open a new checking account at National City, make direct deposit and other banking activities. National City Bank offers $75, $150 or even $200 bonus every now and then. But it is really rare to see a $300 bonus at this time.

This promotion was advertised at here (St. Louis Post-Dispatch). The Chicago Business also mentioned this promotion titled “National City Bank Sweetens Stakes to Snare Retail Customers“. However, you can not find the advertisement of this promotion at NationalCity.com. It seems that this is a branch-only event. You might need to go to your local National City Branch to request more information about this promotion and see whether you are eligible to the $300 offer.

Here are some points you need to know:

$100 bonus: Set up direct deposit of your paycheck/pension/social security (at least $400) and having 10 check card purchases within 60 days of account opening.

Additional $100 bonus: Keep the direct deposit and complete an additional 25 check card purchases by 3/31/2010.

The 3rd $100 bonus: Keep the direct deposit and complete an additional 25 Check Card purchases by 5/31/2010.

It seems that all of the 3 $100 bonuses are easy to get. You need to make direct deposit of $400 or more and use National City Check Card to make purchases until 05/31/2010. This offer ends on November 28, 2009.

Hurry up! Visit your local National City Bank to get more information. (Last year, I saw my local National City Bank was offering small flyers about this $300 promotion.)

Harris Bank is offering a checking account promotion from which you can earn up to $250 bonus. The promotion page can be found here. It seems that this promotion has been listed for a long time but I did not mention it here before. If you are a resident in Midwest region, you should probably consider this promotion.

It looks like not very difficult to get the bonus. All you have to do is to open a Harris Interest Checking Account with direct deposit or online bill payment to get $100 cash and $100 dining certificate. If you add auto save, you would get $50 more bonus. To get this bonus, you have to:

1. Open a new Harris Interest Checking Account

2. Make a direct deposit and online bill pay

3. Add auto save to your account (must be activated)

There might be some minimum deposit required.

Once per year, the holiday shopping season is approaching. Other than the merchants that are trying to increase the sales. Our beloved credit card issuers, and other payment processing providers like Paypal are also trying to promote their own services. If you are lucky, you are now receiving an invitation from PayPal regarding a 5% cashback for the coming shopping season.

The invitation goes to my not-frequently-used PayPal account. The title of the email is: By invitation only: David, get 5% cash back all season long.

The content of this email:

Today I logged into my ING orange savings account and found that the referral promotion from ING Direct is working again. This referral promotion from ING Direct is very famous in the late 2007 and early 2008. And for a while, this promotion seemed to be dead. But in my account, I can see the banner for referring new customers to ING and earn up to $500 again. Both the referral and referred customers will earn bonus from ING Direct. $25 for new customers being referred to open a new account at ING with $250 deposit. And $10 for current ING Direct member who refer new customers to ING.

How it Works:
If your friend opens an account with at least $250, we will deposit a $25 bonus in their new account and a $10 thank you bonus in your ING DIRECT Account.

KeyBank is famous for offering GPS or iPod Nano for new customers who open a new checking account at Key Bank. And now Key Bank is running a new checking account bonus from which customers can earn either $125 or $225 bonus. The promotion page about this banking bonus is at: here.

According to the promotion page, it is pretty easy to get the $125 or $225 sign up bonus:

• Open a qualifying checking account and enroll in KeyBank Rewards by November 20, 2009
• Make one debit card transaction and a combination of two direct deposits and/or automated payments each of $100 or more by January 22, 2010

$125 is available for opening the free checking account which has no minimum balance requirement or monthly service charge. The $225 bonus needs to open either the Key Privilege Checking or Key Privilege Select Checking. Both of the two checking accounts have high minimum balance requirements to avoid a monthly service fee.

Fine print:

Free personal checking applies to Key Express Free Checking account.
