I just wrote a post stating that “Chase Freedom Card Rewards Program Is Getting Worse“. This is a truth. Chase Freedom Card is not my top choice of cashback credit card now. Today, however, I received an email from Chase that my Chase Freedom Card is offering 3% cashback on selected categories from October 1 to December 31, 2009.

This promotion will allow you to get 3% cashback on discount stores, computer and electronic stores and bookstores. Since the big shopping season is coming soon, this promotion definitely offers great chance to save money on above 3 categories. You can also call 1-877-532-3820 to enroll in this promotion.

Fine print:

To be eligible for this bonus offer, you must either call the phone number or log on to the website referenced in this offer by 12/10/2009. Discover Cards Go Biodegradable

Well, this is not credit card news as far as I know. But some of you might still not know that Discover Card has an option to let you choose a biodegradable credit card. This is the American’s first biodegradable credit card. This Discover biodegradable credit card is made of biodegradable PVC, a substance that allows 99 percent of the card plastic to be safely absorbed when exposed to landfill conditions. This credit card will break down 99% in nine months to five years in soil, water, compost, or whatever microorganisms are present. Plus this card leaves no toxic effect on the environment. It might appeal you if you are aware of the environment issues that human are facing right now.

The distinct feature of this biodegradable Discover Card is the “biodegradable” symbol on the back of the card.(see figure below)
