Notice that if you don't pay off your credit card each month BEFORE the bill comes, you are paying 0.85% per month... that's about 10% annual interest. For many people, this will wipe out any benefits from the promotion. For those who carry a balance from month to month, you will have the equivalent of an APR increase of about 11-14%. See the following for further details:

Interesting post. I work for a company that manages and tracks gift cards. I've been following credit card gift cards on savvywallet.com. Just want to provide more information. I just checked on their website, and these are the most important points:
1. 5.95 to activate the card
2. Shipping fee, $20 to expedite it.
3. Monthly Maintenance Fee:4.95 (per month beginning on the 7th month from the day of purchase)
4. Replacement Card Fee:15.00 (per Card; when Card is reissued or replaced for any reason)
5. Customer Service Fee: $1.00 per call to a live customer service agent
6. Card Account Liquidation Fee: $15.00 (charged if a check is issued for fund)
Tip:
Always keep track of your balance, or else, you may find it difficult to use on your second purchase ( you need to tell the cashier, how much to put on the card, they are unable to check the balance for you) Balance can be checked with this number: 1-888-799-0028

If you are now enrolled to the credit protector program, you can call citi to say you want to cancel it. And then the CSR will provide this offer ($50 visa gift card) to you if you keep your credit protector membership. I've already done so.
